WHAT IS
?

Initiated in 2001,
is a model for linking generations through music and to music. The program is created and directed by Dr. Mary Palmer, UCF Professor of Music Education, as an Intergenerational Music Program for babies from birth to 24 months and their special adults. In six week sessions of forty minutes each, babies explore sounds and sound sources through playing instruments, experience listening to great music through movement, begin to match musical pitches through singing, and express nursery rhymes in new and exciting ways. Adults are guided to make music and to use music in various routines
.Experiences to look forward to:
ü Bonding between Baby and special adult is strengthened.
ü Baby’s attentiveness increases.
ü Enjoyment of music and movement is enhanced.
ü Baby’s brain is stimulated and new neurological pathways are formed.
ü Baby’s interest in a broad variety of musical styles and experiences develop.
A lending library of materials is available for home use and will be available for all participants throughout the session. Babies need a lap during each class, so parents, grandparents, and caregivers should plan to join Baby and enjoy the FUN!
A lifelong love of music begins when Baby
ü .engages with music in age appropriate ways
ü experiences music of various styles and genres
ü interacts with music materials and instruments
